PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To express the peak of heat generation by the oxidation of iron at an early period of time as early as possible after coating for reducing the load of moisture management by a farmer in the oxidation reaction time of the iron and for inhibiting the injury of rice seeds, that is, at the period when the moisture in a coating layer is not yet lost by drying or vaporization, and further to lower the maximum temperature of the heat generation even a little.SOLUTION: This method for producing the iron-coated rice seeds is characterized by forming the coating layer on the surface of the rice seeds using the oxidation reaction of the iron, by bringing iron powder and ≥1 kind selected from the group consisting of carbon powder, powder of superphosphate of lime and mineral acid iron powder as accelerating agents of heat generation, in contact with water on the surface of the rice seeds.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】鉄の酸化反応時における農家の水分管理の負担を軽減し、稲種子の障害の発生を抑制するために、鉄の酸化反応による発熱ピークをコーティング後のできるだけ早い時期、即ち、コーティング層の水分が乾燥や蒸発によりまだ失われていない時期に発現させること、さらに発熱の最高温度を少しでも低下させることを課題とする。【解決手段】稲種子表面で、鉄粉、及び、発熱促進剤として炭素粉末、過燐酸石灰粉末及び鉱酸鉄粉末からなる群より選ばれた1種以上と、水とを接触させることによって、稲種子表面に鉄の酸化反応によるコーティング層を形成させることを特徴とする鉄コーティング稲種子の製造方法である。【選択図】なし
