PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wooden planter obtainable by using thinnings, and having a structure in which surplus water is stored/retained in the planter without causing root rot in plants and effectively used for plants with the lapse of time and date when increasing an amount of water to be supplied in one time watering in order to reduce water supply work to plants to be cultivated and grown.SOLUTION: This water-saving wooden planter is formed by arranging a water nonpermeable waterproof sheet b in a lining state in the inside of a square box-like wooden container body (a) which is assembled by four corner square pillars 1 made of wood, four perimeter side wall plates, and a bottom plate 2 to be a bottom wall, suspending the peripheral part across the upper edge of the four perimeter side wall plates 3 to form the wooden container body (a) of a watertight structure, packing wood chips c of a raw piece of wood in the lower half side of the inside of the container body (a) followed by spreading a porous sheet d made of a vegetable fiber over the upper surface, and packing in the upper half side, bed soil e lightened by mixing compost obtained by compost fermenting peat moss, Kanuma soil, leaf mold, and chaff by actinomyces.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】栽培育成する植物に対する給水作業を軽減させるため、一度の灌水で供給する水の量を多くしたときに、過剰の水が、植物に根腐れを生ぜしめずにプランター内に貯留・保水されて、時日の経過により植物に有効に利用されるようになる構造のプランターを、間伐材を用いて得られるようにする。【解決手段】木材により形成した四隅の角柱1と、四周の側壁板と、底壁とする底板2とにより組み立てる、四角な箱状の木製の容器本体aの内面側に、非透水性の防水シートbを内張り状に配設し、周縁部を前記四周の側壁板3の上縁に懸架して水密構造の木製の容器本体aを構成し、その容器本体aの内部の下半側に、生の木片のウッドチップcを詰め込み、その上面に植物繊維よりなる有孔のシートdを敷き込み、上半側に、ピートモス,鹿沼土,腐葉土,及び籾殻を放線菌により堆肥醗酵させた堆肥等を配合して軽量化した床土eを詰め込んで節水型の木製プランターを構成する。【選択図】図2
