PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foaming food maintaining a strong foaming feeling for a long time, good in texture and appearance, having high durability, and with which a consumer does not get bored from the beginning to the end of licking, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The foaming food includes a core material and a foaming coating layer provided on a surface of the core material, wherein the core material is made of a hard candy including 0.5-5 wt.% of a carbonate, 0.5-10 wt.% of an acid, and 3-30 wt.% or more of water retentive food having 5 wt.% or more of a moisture value, and the coating layer is made of a carbonate, an acid and a solid fat, and has a concentration gradient of a solid fat content in a thickness direction.
