PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment instrument to be inserted through a forceps port of an endoscope into a human body for attaching a covering material to an affected part, the instrument being capable of holding the large covering material in a spread state.SOLUTION: A wire 3 of a treatment instrument 1 according to the present invention is advanced to push and outstretch inner tongue pieces 4A, 4B and outer tongue pieces 5A, 5B out of a cylinder 2 outwardly and radially by an elastic force. In this state, the wire 3 is rotated to rotate the outer tongue pieces 5A, 5B, which can turn one piece 4A of the inner tongue pieces 4 to one piece 5A of the outer tongue pieces 5 and the other piece 4B of the inner tongue pieces 4 to the other piece 5B of the outer tongue pieces 5.
