Provided herein are combinations for use for the treatment of a cancer that comprises a solid tumor or a hematologic malignancy. The combinations comprise stem cells, such as adipose stromal stem cells, that are modified to contain an oncolytic virus, such as a vaccinia virus, and an agent that activates a T-cell response within the subject. Also provided are compositions, such as pharmaceutical compositions, and methods and uses of the combinations and compositions.
