PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that is small, but can image a wide imaging range with high resolution.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises an imaging optical system including a brightness restrictor and a plurality of lens components, and an imaging part having a nonplanar light-receiving surface curved in a concave shape toward the imaging optical system. The lens component is a lens with only two surfaces, an object side surface and an image side surface which are in contact with air on an optical axis. The imaging optical system includes, in the order from the object side to the image side, a first lens component with negative refractive power, a second lens component with positive refractive power, and a third lens component with positive refractive power. The shape of the first lens component is a meniscus shape with a convex surface toward the object side, and the shape of the third lens component is double-convex.
