Disclosed is a formulation useful as herbal mosquito repellent, said formulation comprising Litsea glutinosa powders being 41.8% of the formulation Azadiracta indica powders being 8.2% of the formulation Vitex negundo powders being 13.5% of the formulation Cow dung cake fine powders being 19.5% of the formulation Nardostachy jatamansi powders being 9.0% of the formulation and Brassica compestris oil being 8.0% of the formulation. Mosquito repellent effect of the said formulation was found as more than 10 hours. Also provided is a method of manufacturing the formulation.
