PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for planting, protecting grass from external force, improving a construction efficiency, and usable through combining with a commercial grass material, and to provide a laying body using the structure. SOLUTION: This structure 1 for planting is such that a first member 10 has a first basal plate part 11, a through-hole 14 and a pillar part 16, the through-hole 14 pierces from one surface 12 of the first basal plate part 11 into the other surface 13, the pillar part 16 is projectedly set on the other surface 13, a second member 20 has a second basal plate part 21, and one surface 22 of the second basal plate part 21 is arranged facing the other surface 13, and supports the edge part of the pillar part 16. The structure 1 for planting is combined with plant materials 51 and 52 to make the laying body. The plant materials 51 and 52 with a sheet-like or mat-like shape are held between the first and second basal plate parts 11 and 21 in a direction allowing to expose leaf edges from the through-hole 14.
