PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cosmetics having high transparency and high ultraviolet shielding ability for which rutile-type titanium dioxide having a specific shape is used.SOLUTION: The rutile-type titanium dioxide has a rectangular shape or a straw-bundled shape, which has a particle shape where rod-shaped particles obtained by adding hydrochloric acid to an acid-soluble titanium compound and performing deflocculating treatment at pH 1-3 and then performing hydrolysis by adding additional hydrochloric acid and an aliphatic hydroxy acid compound are oriented and aggregated to form the shape of a bundle, the apparent mean major axial length of oriented and aggregated particles is 40-80 nm, the apparent mean minor axial length of oriented and aggregated particles is 15-40 nm, an apparent mean axial ratio (apparent mean major axial length/apparent mean minor axial length) is 1.2-5.0, and the specific surface area is 150-250 m2/g and the cosmetics are blended with the same.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】特定の形状を有するルチル型酸化チタンを使用した高い透明性と高い紫外線遮蔽能を有する化粧料を提供する。【解決手段】本発明は、酸可溶性チタン化合物に塩酸を添加してpH1~3において解膠処理を行った後、追加の塩酸及び脂肪族ヒドロキシ酸化合物を添加して加水分解を行うことにより得られる棒状粒子が束状に配向凝集した粒子形態で、配向凝集した粒子の見掛け平均長軸長40~80nm、配向凝集した粒子の見掛け平均短軸長15~40nm、見掛け平均軸比(見掛け平均長軸長/見掛け平均短軸長)1.2~5.0で、比表面積が150~250m2/gを示す短冊状あるいは藁束状のルチル型酸化チタンとそれを配合した化粧料である。【選択図】なし
