PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic imaging apparatus capable of obtaining sufficient acoustic waves from a detection object inside a subject.SOLUTION: A photoacoustic imaging apparatus 100 comprises: LED light source parts 13 and 14 a detection part 16 for detecting acoustic waves generated from a detection object inside a subject that has absorbed light radiated from the LED light source parts 13 and 14 and a calibration member 15 including a reference body 15a for calibration for absorbing the light radiated from the LED light source parts 13 and 14 and generating acoustic waves having strength corresponding to the amount of the absorbed light, and a reference body 15b for calibration having optical characteristics corresponding to the subject, in which the reference body 15a for calibration is disposed inside.
