PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary self-traveling type endoscope and an over tube excellent in operatability capable of easily inserting the insertion part of an endoscope in which a spiral structure disposed on the outer peripheral face generates a driving force by friction with a body cavity wall by rotation by cheap composition into a bent body cavity deep part.
SOLUTION: The rotary self-traveling type endoscope of this invention is equipped with a tip part 2 in which a photographing means is arranged, the flexible insertion part 4 which has a spiral shape part 4a on the outer peripheral face, an operation part 10 equipped with a rotation driving part 12 for rotating the insertion part around the longitudinal axis, the soft over tube 5 to be inserted covering the insertion part having a length which is a prescribed length shorter than the length of the insertion part in the longitudinal direction, a flange 6 arranged at the proximal end of the over tube, and a stopper 8 disposed in the insertion part between the operation part and the flange.
