PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a high-precision diagnosis of tissue characteristics.SOLUTION: A region of interest is set (S302) by displaying a B-mode image by ultrasonic waves at a transmission frequency for a B-mode (S300). Subsequently, the transmission frequency is set as a predetermined transmission frequency for tissue characteristics depending on the depth and size of the region of interest, and the ultrasonic waves are received by each element (S306). A variation index is calculated on the basis of relations among the respective elements performing reception (S308-S318), and the transmission frequency is returned to the transmission frequency for the B-mode (S320).【課題】高精度な組織性状の診断を可能とすることを目的とする。【解決手段】Bモード用の送信周波数の超音波によってBモード画像を表示して(S300)、着目領域を設定する(S302)。続いて、注目部位の深さ及び大きさに応じて予め定めた組織性状用送信周波数に設定して、各素子によって超音波を受信する(S306)。そして、受信した各素子の関係に基づいて、バラツキ指標を算出し(S308~S318)、Bモード用の送信周波数に戻す(S320)。【選択図】図9
