To provide a mechanism that can include a step feature guide wire having a guide wire having a proximal end, a distal end, and a diameter.SOLUTION: A self-expanding element can be provided at a vicinity of a distal end of a guide wire, and may have at least two states of a shrunk diameter and an expanded diameter. The self-expanding element may be expandable at least according to peculiar adequacy based on a property of the material composing an original shape and element. Also, the expanded diameter may be substantially 70% to 280% of the guide wire diameter.
