The present invention relates to a multichannel RF coil array for an MRI device and, more specifically, relates to an RF coil for multichannel transmission using a plurality of circular polarized (CP) modes in an ultrahigh frequency MRI device. The multichannel RF coil array includes L units of coil elements surrounding a subject. Each of the coil elements is divided into a plurality of coil groups comprising a plurality of coil elements. A plurality of current phase values, increasing in integer multiple of 360°/L, are applied to the coil elements in each of the groups. The current phase values, applied to each of the coil groups, are applied independently from a plurality of current phase values applied to the other coil groups.
