A clip for connecting a sling to a lifting arm of a hoist, wherein the lifting arm is provided with at least one substantially mushroom-shaped fastening element, wherein the clip is provided with a case with a body part in which a substantially keyhole-shaped recess is provided for receiving the fastening element, a locking member which is pivotably or slidably connected with the body part, a spring for biasing the locking member to the closed position, and signaling means which are arranged for providing a signal from which it appears that the fastening element is positioned in the narrow part of the substantially keyhole-shaped recess in the right manner.
