Methods and apparatus for vertical hanging plant container according tovariousaspects of the present invention comprise a container comprising a moistureimpermeablereservoir and at least one breathable zone positioned above the reservoir. Thereservoirmay be disposed along a bottom section of the container to serve as a moisturestorageregion allowing moisture to be wicked upwards by the soil in the container. Afirstbreathable zone may be located above the reservoir in at least one sidewall ofthecontainer and allow for the transfer of air and moisture between the soil andan exteriorenvironment surrounding the container. A second breathable zone may be locatedabovethe reservoir in an interior divider separating two interior portions of thecontainer.
