An internal open window (60) extends 5 through the contact layer (12) exposing a distal side of an absorbent member (14). The absorbent member (14) is disposed in a superimposed relation to the window (60) of the contact layer (12) and is dimensioned to extend laterally beyond the window (60) such that a portion of the absorbent member (14) overlaps and is secured to the contact layer (12). A drape layer (56) is disposed on a proximal side of the absorbent member (14), 1o and is adhesively coated to fasten the drape layer (56) to the absorbent member (14). A cover layer (58) disposed over the drape layer (56) defines an internal open window (60) such that the open window (60) is adjacent the absorbent member (14). A distal side of the cover layer (58) is adhesively coated to secure the cover layer (58) to the contact layer (12).1/3 16 14 "E4 30 2 "E3" "E24 12 22 m" " B" "E1" 2 FIG. 1 12 16 38 4 04 32 7* 32 24 22 20 FIG. 2 FIG. 3
