Pet food grains for reducing vomiting of pets after meals which comprise swollen grains having a moisture content of 3-12 mass%, characterized in that: grains having a surface that has an arithmetic mean surface roughness Sa of 14 μm or more, said arithmetic mean surface roughness Sa being measured using an L-filter having a nesting index of 0.25 mm, are contained at a ratio of 60% or greater; and grains having a hardness of 2.5 kgw or less, said hardness being measured immediately after soaking the pet food grains in dilute hydrochloric acid (pH 2.5) at 25°C for 10 minutes, are contained at a ratio of 60% or greater.
