Such an apparatus includes an egg-lifting system having a frame, and an arrangement of an egg-lifting device configured to lift the egg from the egg carrier. The platform assembly has a platform configured to be movably positioned between the array of the above-described egg-moving devices and the egg carriers. In this manner, the platform may be positioned to receive an egg released from the egg-lifting device while at the same time preventing access to the egg-transporting device to the egg carrier.
