Disclosed are aminodihydrothiazine compounds of Formula I, salts thereof, and methods for their preparation. Specific examples of compounds of Formula I include: (S)-4-(3-(2-fluoropyridin-3-yl)phenyl)-4-methyl-5,6-dihydro-4H-1,3-thiazin-2-amine, and (S)-4-(4-Fluoro-3-pyrimidin-5-yl-phenyl)-4-methyl-5,6-dihydro-4H-[1,3]thiazine-2-ylamine. The compounds of formula I are potent inhibitors of beta-secretase or beta-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzymes. The compounds are useful in the treatment of Alzheimers disease and other disease and disorders involving amyloid peptide.
