PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external pharmaceutical composition having physical properties which is easy to use even for a patient with atopic dermatitis.SOLUTION: An external pharmaceutical composition containing clobetasone and/or ester thereof as an active ingredient is controlled so that the remaining viscosity measured by a cone-plate viscometer under constant temperature conditions at 32°C is 200 mPa s or less, and so that the Casson yield value is 40000 mPa or more. And further as physical properties in a Casson plot, the external pharmaceutical composition is controlled so that the value of the square of the correlation coefficient in the domain in which the square root of shear rate is 1 to 15 is 0.98 or more.
