PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selecting bactericidal wilt resistance of tobacco. SOLUTION: In the method for selecting a tobacco having bactericidal wilt resistance, polymorphism of DNA sequence of sequence number 3 or 4 (reference to the specification) existing in a tobacco genome DNA is used as an index and an individual having a DNA in which the site 38th base is adenine is selected as the tobacco having bactericidal wilt resistance. The method has (a) a process for amplifying the sequence containing the site 38th of the sequence number 3 or 4 using a DNA extracted from tobacco as a template and (2) a process for cleaving the selected amplification product with BfaI and when the amplification product is cleft with BfaI, and individual supply source of the DNA is selected as the tobacco having bactericidal wilt resistance. This tobacco having bactericidal wilt resistance is selected by using the method.
