PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the activity of a gustatory area by an optical measuring device for a living body.SOLUTION: Proper measuring/analysis parameters are set in accordance with the brain function as target of measurement. In a case of measuring the gustatory function, the period without the brain activity as target of measurement is set not to include the period of 60 sec after start of stimulation. The period of activity analysis is set to include the period of 16 sec to 25 sec after start of stimulation to an oxygenated hemoglobin concentration variation signal, and include the period of 28 sec to 37 sec after start of stimulation to a deoxygenated hemoglobin concentration variation signal. The interval of providing stimulation is set to be 80 sec or more.
