PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antioxidant composition expressing antioxidant functions to various active oxygen species.
SOLUTION: The antioxidant composition has actions for suppressing 3 species of radicals: hypochlorite radicals, hydroxyl radicals and peroxynitrite radicals, and is blended with a histidine-containing dipeptide mixture obtained from an animal extract as a hypochlorite-based active oxygen scavenger, &ge20mg vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid or L-ascorbate) as a peroxynitrite-based active oxygen scavenger per 100mg sulfur-containing amino acids or peptides and &ge4mg coenzyme Q10 such as ubiquinone or the like as a hydroxyl radical-based active oxygen scavenger to active oxygen species produced in the living body.
