A vascular filter 20 comprises a support having stent struts 22 and a filtration portion having filtration struts 26. The support is arranged concentrically around the filtration portion. The filtration portion and support attach to form a filtration basket. The filtration portion is comprised of a material having a faster biodegradability rate than the support. Filtration portion and support may be biodegradable. The filtration portion may comprise a hub 24 to which the filtration struts connect, where the hubs rate of biodegradability may be the same or faster than that of the filtration struts. The vascular filter may be cut from a tube comprising inner and outer concentric portions, the inner portion may include a material having a faster rate of biodegradability than the outer portion. The inner and outer concentric portions may be at least partially spaced from one another radially, where connecting members possessing a faster biodegradability rate than the outer portion bridge a space between the concentric portions. Also a method of vascular filter manufacture, using a tubular member having first and second portions, the second portion concentrically arranged around the first and cutting the first and second portions to producing respective filtration and supporting stent struts.
