PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber having excellent texture and soft touch, capable of substantially absorbing even a highly viscous liquid and liquid containing a solid content, and having water-disintegrability and biodegradability.SOLUTION: An absorber 10A includes a surface layer 11 superposed on a surface of an absorber layer 12. The absorber layer 12 comprises a nonwoven fabric (α) with prescribed density formed by heat-treating an air-laid web that consists of raw fibers (Xs) containing biodegradable and thermally fusible fibers (X).
