PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image processing apparatus capable of displaying images which enable a user to easily distinguish an abnormal region containing cancer cells, etc. even when the abnormal region is minute or tissue with a low uptake efficiency for a contrast medium.SOLUTION: A correlation between a CT value and a tube voltage is calculated for a pixel at the same coordinates in plural medical images of the same cross section of a subject, the plural medical images being obtained by imaging the cross section at tube voltages different from one another with an X-ray CT apparatus. Control is then performed such that the CT value at each pixel is determined based on the correlation and a user-specified degree of highlighting, and a highlighted image formed of the CT values is generated and displayed. A highlighted image with the degree of highlighting desired by the user is thus obtained, enabling the user to distinguish the abnormal region easily.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2【課題】がん細胞等の異常領域が微小な場合や造影剤の取り込みが低い組織の場合であっても、ユーザが異常領域を識別しやすい画像を表示することが可能な医用画像処理装置を提供することを目的としている。【解決手段】Ｘ線ＣＴ装置によって互いに異なる管電圧で撮像して得られた、被検体の同一断面における複数の医用画像の同一座標の画素における、ＣＴ値と管電圧との相関関係を算出する。そして当該相関関係とユーザから指定された強調度とに基づいて、各画素におけるＣＴ値を特定し、当該ＣＴ値からなる強調画像を生成し、表示するように制御する。これにより、ユーザ所望の強調度で強調された強調画像とすることができ、すなわち異常領域を識別しやすい画像を生成することができる。【選択図】 図２
