A body composition meter comprises: a multi-frequency current application unit to apply an AC current of multiple frequencies to a body of a subject; an impedance measurement unit to measure bioelectrical impedances of the subject when the AC current is applied by the multi-frequency current application unit at the respective frequencies; a body composition measurement unit to obtain parameters on a body composition of the subject based on the bioelectrical impedances measured by the impedance measurement unit; a measured data Cole circle calculation unit to calculate a Cole circle of measured data using resistances and reactances in the bioelectrical impedances at the respective frequencies as measured by the impedance measurement unit; and a measurement anomaly determination unit to determine the presence or absence of an anomaly in the measurement of the bioelectrical impedance based on an amount of shift of the Cole circle (CI) of the measured data calculated by the measured data Cole circle measurement unit relative to a Cole circle (C0) of normal data using normal data of bioelectrical impedance.
