PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary cutter for a mower, which comprises a guide member for allowing cutting of weed with a tip of a turning cord-like cut member and can perform more efficient cutting work, and a mower using the same.SOLUTION: A rotary cutter for a mower comprises: a holding member 100 which is mounted to a rotary cutter attachment shaft 14 of a mower and rotated a cord-like cut member 4a whose base end side is held by the holding member 100 and whose distal end side extends outward in a radial direction and a guide member 200 which is relatively rotatable around a rotation axis with respect to the holding member 100 at a lower position of the holding member 100.
