PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red blood cell phlebotomy diluent and a red blood cell phlebotomy diluent filled vessel capable of reinfusing plasma separated from the collected blood and less likely to cause citric acid toxicity, and also to provide a red blood cell phlebotomy instrument therewith.SOLUTION: A red blood cell phlebotomy diluent is used for a phlebotomy therapy in which the red blood cell phlebotomy diluent is added to the blood collected from a subject, and after the blood is separated into red blood cell component and plasma component, the plasm component is reinfused to the subject and the red blood cell component is discarded. The diluent does not substantially comprise calcium ions, and has an osmotic pressure of 245-300 mOsm/L, a pH of 6.0-7.4, and a citric acid ion content of 0-10 mmol/L.
