PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate authentication of a plurality of fingers, or objects to be authenticated, while miniaturizing the apparatus.SOLUTION: This biometric apparatus is provided with an opening/closing lid 9 for opening/closing a disposition recess part 6a formed in a housing 6, a capturing camera 10 capturing the image of the vein pattern of the fingers and disposed in the disposition recess part in a state being movable interlocked with the opening/closing operation of the opening/closing lid, a light source 11 disposed inside the housing and illuminating infrared light to the fingers, and a finger placing stand part 6b provided one end part of the housing for placing the fingers in such a manner as facing the capturing camera.
