The examination optical system is for examining an eye under test. The drive unit moves the examination optical system. The at least two image pickup units pick up images, at substantially the same time, of a front portion of the eye under test from two different directions. The analysis section analyses the at least two picked up images obtained at substantially the same time by the at least two image pickup units, and thereby acquires a 3D position of the eye under test. The storage section has correction-information stored therein beforehand. The correction information is obtained on the basis of the optical characteristics of an eyeball and is used for correcting the position of the eye under test in the light axis direction of the examination optical system. The position correction section corrects the 3D position obtained by the analysis section on the basis of the correction information.
