PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new drug sustained release material which can simply be produced and has sufficient material strength, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: This drug sustained release material is produced by immersing a porous material in an aqueous solution of a drug having a positive charge, immersing the porous material in a gelling material having a negative charge, and then gelling the gelling material.
