PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terpene composition with increased stability and activity, in relation to terpenes which are liquid, not miscible with water, and unstable in air, and which have a short lifetime.SOLUTION: A terpene composition is produced by encapsulating a terpene such as citral, eugenol, and thymol in a hollow glucan particle which is a Baker's yeast cell wall made by treating a Baker's yeast cell with an aqueous hydroxide solution or the like or a cell wall particle. The terpene composition is effective against bacteria, viruses, mycoplasmas, fungi, nematodes, arthropods and/or arachnids. Furthermore, the terpene composition maximizes terpene payload； minimizes unencapsulated payload； controls payload stability； controls payload release kinetics； creates a solid form of a liquid terpene； masks the smell and taste of terpenes； and simplifies handling and application of terpenes.【課題】液状であり、水との混和性がなく、空気中では不安定で短期の寿命であるテルペン類に関して、安定性及び活性が増大したテルペン組成物を提供する。【解決手段】酵母細胞を水酸化物水溶液で処理したパン酵母細胞壁等の中空グルカン粒子又は細胞壁粒子に、シトラール、オイゲノール、チモール等のテルペンを封入したテルペン組成物。【効果】前記テルペン組成物は、細菌、ウイルス、マイコプラズマ、真菌、線虫、節足動物及び／又はクモ類に対し有効である。亦、前記テルペン組成物は、テルペンのベイロードを最大にし、封入されていないベイロードを最小にし、ベイロード安定性を制御し、ベイロード放出動態を制御し、液体テルペンを固体形態となし、テルペンの臭い及び味をマスキングし、テルペンの取り扱い及び適用を簡易にすることができる。【選択図】なし
