A puncture needle for an endoscope (1) includes a flexible sheath (7) having a longitudinal axis and deformed to be bent by a raising base (108), a flexible needle tube (3) having a needle tip (32a) and a distal opening section (31) and that is movable in the sheath (7) with respect to the sheath (7), and a stylet (27) having a distal end surface (28a) that is able to advance and retreat in the needle tube (3) and protrude and withdraw from needle tube (3) along the longitudinal axis of the sheath (7), wherein the stylet (27) retracts the needle tip (32a) such that the needle tip (32a) of the needle tube (3) is separated from an inner surface of the sheath (7) as the distal end surface (28a) of the stylet (27) comes in contact with the inner surface of the sheath (7) formed in the bent shape.
