An isolated antibody that specifically binds to a cyclic peptide comprising the conformational epitope which has at least the amino acid sequences GSNK or SNKG, wherein the K (lysine) is solvent-exposed and wherein the antibody can specifically bind to amyloid beta is described. Methods of treating and preventing Alzheimers disease, as well as methods to produce the antibody, are also described.
