PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for cleaning and keeping (maintaining) a medical hand-held instrument, particularly, a dental hand-held instrument (2).SOLUTION: The hand-held instrument (2) is associated with an elongate grip sleeve (4) where elements are arranged in relation to a drive device, particularly, a shaft (8), for example, is rotatably supported. Different media are guided through the system in order to clean and keep the hand-held instrument (2).
