The present invention relates to a technology to acquire and process interested areas from medical image equipment capable of assisting doctors&prime diagnosis by avoiding re-extraction of interested areas identical to the previous diagnosis based on the information inputted by users. According to an embodiment, the apparatus for avoiding re-extraction of interested areas comprises: an extracting unit for extracting interested areas after receiving medical images a re-extraction checking unit for checking if the interested area corresponds to the previously extracted areas by using the information inputted by users about the interested areas and an interested area processing unit for processing the interested areas depending on the result.
