Antisense compounds and methods for reducing factor 11 in a subject in need thereof and for treating or preventing thromboembolic complications are disclosed herein. Examples of disease states that may be ameliorated by administration of an antisense compound that targets Factor 11 include thrombosis, embolism, and thromboembolism such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, and stroke.
