#$%^&*AU2018214083A120180830.pdf#####ABSTRACT The present invention provides a medical tube comprising: a first and second segment each configured to transport a humidified gas, wherein the first and second segments comprise a first and second heater wire circuit, respectively； and an intermediate connector that connects the patientend of the first segment and a chamber-end of the second segment to form a single conduit for the humidified gas, wherein at least a portion of the intermediate connector is covered by a portion of the first segment and/or a portion of the second segment such that the intermediate connector is internal to the medical tube, wherein electrical power passes through a connection circuit within the intermediate connector to provide power to one or both of the first and second heater wire circuits. A controller is adapted to selectively switch between providing power to the first heater wire circuit or both heater wire circuits.
