Es wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer dentalen Totalprothese umfassend einen Zahnfleischbereich und einen Zahnbogen beschrieben, wobei das Verfahren den Schritt des Bereitstellens digitaler Konstruktionsdaten des Zahnfleischbereichs auf Grundlage digitaler 3D-Daten einer Mundsituation in zahnlosem Zustand und des Zahnbogens auf Grundlage digitaler 3D-Daten von Zähnen, die den Zahnbogen bilden sollen, umfasst. Dieses Verfahren soll derart weitergebildet werden, dass eine möglichst einfache Herstellung der Totalprothese ermöglicht wird und die Herstellungskosten minimiert werden.
