PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an observation image which sufficiently emphasizes an outline part and has good visibility while suppressing noise.
SOLUTION: In picking up an image of a subject, such as an organ mucous membrane surface, with a video scope having a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) where a color filter is disposed, filtering processing is performed to an image signal by a filter coefficient. At that time, a DC component, a Nyquist frequency component, and 1/2 Nyquist frequency component are relatively decreased and 1/4 and 3/4 Nyquist frequency components are relatively amplified.
