PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner discharging from a top face, the clean air cleaned by air cleanability of ions while avoiding growth in outer shape size, and to provide a method for use of the air cleaner.SOLUTION: An air cleaner comprises ventilation flues 1a, 13 sending air sucked from a suction port 2a to an upper outlet 15, and purifiers 7a, 7b purifying the air flowing in the ventilation flues 1a, 13, and further an ion blast unit blasting outside ions generated to the front side of the ventilation flue 13.
