Disclosed is a rennet injection system within a food processing vessel or vat that provide improved rennet mixing and distribution. The system comprises a vat with multiple interconnected walls defining an inside or interior space or volume of the vat. The vat has a longitudinal centre line axis and a rennet supply line for conveying rennet to the inside space of the vat. The rennet supply line contains multiple injectors spaced from each other, the multiple injectors extend into the inside space of the vat. A pair of agitator shafts that extend through the inside space of the vat, on opposing sides of the centre-line of the vat and a rennet receiving area between the pair of agitator shafts includes multiple rennet delivery locations that are spaced apart so that some of the rennet locations are aligned with each other and are arranged along the centre-line of the vat and other rennet delivery locations are arranged on opposing sides of the centre-line of the vat. Each injector has multiple openings or spray nozzles that face different directions transversely across and longitudinally along the vat to deliver the rennet in a pattern that is generally evenly distributed through the rennet receiving area.
