The individually packaged absorbent article comprises: an absorbent article including a main body having a liquid-permeable front sheet, a liquid-impermeable back sheet, and an absorber disposed between the front sheet and the back sheet； and a packaging sheet that individually packages the absorbent article； in which, the main body has a shape having a predetermined length in the longitudinal direction and a predetermined width in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction. The absorbent article has a hip protection portion. The hip protection portion has a side region protruded from the rear side of the main body, which comprises: a first protrusion including a portion of the largest width from the center line of the main body in the longitudinal direction； a first recess that is located behind the first protrusion and adjacent to the first protrusion； and a second recess that is located in front of the first protrusion and adjacent to the first protrusion. The absorbent article is folded by forming a a mountain folding line in the side region of the hip protection portion.
