The catcher includes a substantially planar body, a release area, a release means, and a lifting means adapted to lift the substantially planar body so as to substantially catch any animals on the substantially planar body and to direct the captured animals into the release area. In use, the substantially planar body is positioned on the ground, the lifting means is attached to a structure, tree or the like substantially above, and the attractant is provided nearby.
