PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which has a projection part that has excellent cushion, flexibly follows the movement of a wearers skin, deforms, and excellently fits, is small in liquid spread, and is hard to soak back to the surface.
SOLUTION: In the absorbent article 1 provided with an absorbing layer 4 between a surface sheet 2 and a reverse sheet 3, the absorbing layer 4 is provided with a lower part absorbing layer 41, an upper absorbing layer 42 smaller than that, and a cushion layer 43. A projection part 5 is formed by a surface sheet 2, the upper absorbing layer 42, and the cushion layer 43 in the center part in the width direction of the absorbent article 1. The cushion layer 43 comprises a fiber aggregate composed mainly by hydrophilic synthetic fiber. Density &rhoU of the upper absorbing layer 42, density &rhoC of the cushion layer 43, and density &rhoD of the lower part absorbing layer 41 under no pressure satisfy a relation, &rhoC < &rhoU < &rhoD, whereas density &rhoUP of the upper absorbing layer 42, density &rhoCP of the cushion layer 43, and density &rhoDP of the lower absorbing layer 41 under pressure satisfy relations, &rhoUP &le&rhoCP &le&rhoUP and &rhoUP < &rhoDP.
