PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drink having as the raw materials, vegetables which contain many starches, tubers, beans, and seeds, and having natural sweetness which the raw materials have when cooked.
SOLUTION: This drink contains squeezed juice of vegetables containing &ge6 w/w% of starch, saccharides, and lactic acid. The lactic acid content is 0.1g/L-1.5g/L, and a weight ratio of lactic acid to saccharides (lactic acid/saccharides) is adjusted to 0.01-0.12. (A) A material which is squeezed juice of vegetables containing &ge6 w/w% of starch, and is subjected to saccharifying treatment, and (B) a material which is the vegetable squeezed juice and is lactic fermented are each contained at a weight ratio of [(A)/(B)=(20-95):(80-5)] [with the proviso that (A)+(B)=100], in the case of converting into an amount allowing to obtain an equal sugar content. The raw material vegetables are especially preferable, for instance, sweet potato and pumpkin.
