To provide an electronic endoscope system capable of controlling lighting control or an imaging elements sensitivity or electronic shutter speed with a predetermined setting content suitable for use of a treatment instrument, simply by bringing the treatment instrument into the vicinity of or into contact with an electronic endoscope device.SOLUTION: An electronic endoscope system comprises: an electronic endoscope device 1 including a light source for illuminating an interior of a body and an imaging element for imaging the illuminated interior of the body and a treatment instrument 30 to be used together with the electronic endoscope device 1. The treatment instrument 30 comprises an IC tag 31 for storing predetermined information.
