PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably extract plaques so that the extracted plaques can be matched to the plaques in the coronary blood vessel wall extracted by doctors interpretation.SOLUTION: This plaque region extracting apparatus extracts first image data of the blood vessel wall from image data acquired by imaging a subject including a blood vessel, filters an intermediate region on the first image data to generate second image data, generates third image data by enhancing an image region having smaller pixel values than a peripheral part in the first image data from a difference between the first image data and the second image data, determines standard deviation of pixel values of the third image data, and extracts plaques in the blood vessel according to threshold values of a plurality of levels based on the standard deviation.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】 医師の読影による冠動脈の血管壁内のプラークの抽出と一致するように、プラークを確実に抽出すること。【解決手段】 プラーク領域抽出装置は、血管を含む被検体を撮影して取得された画像データから血管壁の第1の画像データを抽出し、前記第1の画像データに対して中間領域のフィルタリングを行って中間値の第2の画像データを作成し、前記第1の画像データと前記第2の画像データとの差分から前記第1の画像データにおいて周辺部よりも画素値の低い画像領域を強調処理した第3の画像データを作成し、前記第3の画像データの画素値の標準偏差を求め、この標準偏差に基づく複数レベルの閾値に従って前記血管中のプラークを抽出する。【選択図】図1
